Learn
Learn the Business.
Build Around the Art.

Practical music-business education designed to help independent artists understand what surrounds the work—and build with intention.

The Learning Journey

The business of being an artist develops in stages.

The Art of Music Business (Reggae Edition) follows that journey across five connected areas—beginning with identity and storytelling, then growing through booking and touring, income and independence, contracts and publishing, and long-term business planning and finance.

Each part builds on what came before, while giving you room to enter where you need support most.

Five Parts. One Journey.

Each part explores a different layer of building a sustainable independent music career.

Learning Becomes Shared

Backstage Blueprint is growing beyond independent learning. Our next stage will bring artists together to learn with guidance, gain perspective from industry professionals, exchange ideas and feedback with one another, and carry what they're learning into practical application.

The same framework. New ways to learn, collaborate, and put it into practice.

Guided Workshops

Learn together.
Online workshop series take each book's framework deeper through guided discussion, exercises, and practical application.
Collaborative learning

Collaborative Learning

Learn through one another.
Artists develop capstone projects, exchange constructive feedback, and learn by examining one another's ideas and decisions. The process puts collaboration into practice while helping artists strengthen their own work through shared perspective.
Mentorship 2

Industry Mentorship

Learn from experience.
Working professionals bring perspective from the parts of the industry artists are learning to navigate.
Plan to stage

From Plan to Stage

Build the business. Bring the vision to life.
The larger learning journey culminates in a music-business plan that brings the full framework together. Artists who demonstrate both business readiness and performance potential may advance toward a cash award and the opportunity to perform at Backstage Blueprint's annual benefit concert.

Book One Capstone

Epk

Build Your EPK

Bring the lessons of Branding & Storytelling together in one professional artist resource.

The Book One capstone will invite participating artists to develop an Electronic Press Kit that brings identity, story, imagery, music, messaging, and professional presentation into alignment.

Artists will build from the work explored throughout Book One, then share their EPKs within the learning community for constructive feedback and reflection. By examining one another's choices—and considering how clearly each EPK communicates the artist behind the work—
participants will practice the same collaboration, observation, and thoughtful exchange at the heart of the learning experience.

The goal isn't simply to create an EPK. It's to create one that knows what it is trying to say.

Future programs, capstones, mentorship opportunities, awards, and performance opportunities are currently in development. Details and program structures may evolve as Backstage Blueprint grows.

Start Where You Are

You don't have to use everything at once. You only have to begin with what your career needs now.

Whether you're defining your story, studying another artist's path, working through a business question, or preparing for the next stage of growth, Backstage Blueprint is designed to meet you where you are—and give you somewhere to grow from.

Read. Observe. Reflect. Build. Return when the next question arrives

The goal isn't to complete the website. It's to build what your career needs next.
